There’s something oddly satisfying about starting a new brand board with a blank canvas. I was recently tasked with designing a visual identity for a boutique skincare line, and the first thing I did was open a fresh document and start playing with fonts. That’s when I stumbled upon Blocked—a display font that immediately caught my eye with its sharp edges and confident presence.

Blocked for Luxury Packaging and Branding

Blocked is a Fonts choice that feels like it was born for luxury. Its clean lines and geometric shapes give it a modern, almost architectural feel. When I placed it on a mockup of a skincare product label, it instantly elevated the design from simple to sophisticated. The font has a subtle elegance that doesn’t shout but commands attention. It works beautifully on high-end packaging, where every detail matters and the typography needs to reflect the brand's premium positioning.

I tested Blocked against other display fonts and found that it stood out in terms of clarity and impact. It’s not overly ornate or busy, which makes it ideal for branding that wants to appear both stylish and approachable.

Blocked on Social Media Graphics and Website Headers

One of the first places I used Blocked was on the Instagram feed for the skincare brand. I paired it with a minimalist background and some soft product imagery. The result? A strong visual hierarchy that drew the eye directly to the brand name and key message. It worked especially well on dark backgrounds, where the contrast made the text pop. I also experimented with different weights and found that even lighter variations of Blocked still carried a sense of strength. Blocked in Business Cards and Brand Identity

When designing business cards for the same project, I wanted something that felt professional yet distinctive. Blocked fit the bill perfectly. Its structured form gave the cards a sense of order and precision, while the font’s unique shape helped them stand out in a stack of traditional designs.

I also noticed how well Blocked complemented other typefaces. Pairing it with a sleek sans serif for body text created a nice balance between bold and readable. This kind of font pairing is essential in building a cohesive brand identity, and Blocked made the process much smoother.

However, it’s worth noting that Blocked isn’t suited for long blocks of text. It shines as a headline or accent typeface rather than for body copy. For projects that require extended reading, it’s best to pair it with a more legible supporting font.

Blocked for Creative Studio Logos and Brand Boards

In my experience, Blocked is particularly well-suited for creative studio logos and brand boards. It has a clean, modern aesthetic that aligns well with the visual language of design agencies and independent creators. I used it in a logo concept for a local bakery and found that it added just the right amount of personality without overshadowing the brand’s core message.

Its ability to blend style with readability made it a go-to choice for various elements of the brand board—from taglines to iconography labels. It’s a font that feels intentional, which is exactly what you want when crafting a brand that leaves a lasting impression.
